De film vertelt het verhaal van de 20-jarige Lucy en oorlogsveteraan Stupe. Texas probeert zich af te scheiden van de Verenigde Staten en New York City wordt gebruikt als onderhandelingsmiddel. Lucy ontmoet Stupe als ze uit de metro komt en in de militaire invasie van Brooklyn belandt. Samen besluiten ze de verraderlijke vijf blokken van Bushwick over te steken. De wijk is echter vergeven van plunderaars, lokale milities, binnenvallende militairen en een een dwaze neef. Het doel is om veilig thuis te komen en te worden herenigd met Lucy's oma.
