Het ware verhaal van Chuck Wepner, de man die de inspiratie vormde voor de Rocky films. In het gewone leven was Wepner drankhandelaar, maar hij werd beroemd nadat hij 15 rondes doorstond tegen bokskampioen Muhammed Ali. Zijn moeizame bokscarrière leverde hem twee knock-outs, acht gebroken neuzen en 313 hechtingen op. Maar zijn zwaarste gevechten waren zoals vaker buiten de ring.
