Hij heeft zijn eigen autoreparatiebedrijf naast zijn huis en leeft samen met zijn huidige vrouw Lilya en zijn zoon Romka, uit een vorig huwelijk. Zijn leven komt op zijn kop te staan wanneer Vadim Sergeyich, burgemeester van de stad, zijn bedrijf, zijn huis en zijn grond wil afnemen.
